NextGen Gallery doesn’t support eCommerce. NextGen Pro is required to be able to sell Digital Downloads.

NextGen Pro offers the possibility to purchase and download images one by one ( but it doesn’t provide with a membership system or bulk download feature ). Also, the gallery protection can be achieved indirectly, using the default WP’s password protection feature for the pages.

ok, can customers download the pictures for free?

Yes, you can set $0 pricelist items and that will allow the customers to download images for free within the lightbox mode.

Do customers have to enter personal data in the shop system for free download?

While adding a free Digital Item in pricelist, you will be allowed to check an option that would allow the customers to download free images directly from the lightbox without the need to go through the cart page or let them go through the checkout and leave collect their names + email addresses.
