Nextgen gallery causes white-screen after attempting plugin update.

  • I updated my WordPress version to 4.2.2. Then I started going through plugins and updating them one by one. As soon as I updated Nextgen Gallery, the entire site went to white screen.

    If I delete the /plugins/nextgen-gallery folder via FTP, the site works normally. If I then install Nextgen Gallery, I get a white screen.

    What’s the best way to trouble-shoot this?

    Update:
    I removed Nextgen Gallery completely. Then, I deactivated all of my plugins. Then I installed Nextgen and started activating one by one. Akismet, Custom Post Type UI, then I activated Advanced Custom Fields and got the white screen again. So it appears to be a conflict between Nextgen and Advanced Custom Fields?
