• The Nextgen Widget, when used as a widget (in sidebar or footer) has a space to add what gallery you want to use. It still seems to pull photos from other galleries though. Is there any solution if I just want to use photos from one specific gallery.

Maybe there is another Nextgen Widget I can use?
    Thanks

  • Hi,

Unless I misunderstand the question, when you edit the NextGen Gallery widget in Appearance –> Widgets, you can select specific Galleries to display and there is another setting to display:
    1. All Galleries
    2. Only which is not listed
    3. Only which are listed

    Is this feature not working?

    Cheers ??

Hi, thanks for answering. Forgot to mention that when I put it on “only which are listed,” it does not work. I get the title but no photos. I guess I should have realized that it is just not working — but don’t know why. It seems like I am doing everything right. When I post the code on a page, i get a specific gallery — but the widget is not working for me. Is that clear?

I finally figured it out!! After all this time.

If you past the code [nggallery id=8] onto a page, gallery 8 shows up. On the widget, it asks for the Gallery ID as well but I just had to use the number 8 instead of the whole ID code. Arg! Thanks

    Excellent!

The widget displays photos in the sidebar and you decide which galleries to show, whereas on a page or post (as you have worked out), you can specify a gallery or an album to display. You can also use [singlepic id= xx] to display a single picture.

I also recommend using the NextGen Slideshow widget.

    Cheers.
