    I installed version 2.0.27 today and uploaded some pictures. Normally the meta_data in the wp_ngg_pictures table contains something like this:
    a:17:{s:5:"width";i:756;s:6:"height";i:1000;s:4:"full";a:2:{s:5:"width";i:756;s:6:"height";i:1000;}s:9:"thumbnail";a:4:{s:5:"width";i:100;s:6:"height";i:75;s:8:"filename";s:30:"thumbs_diary2013_09_15-001.jpg";s:9:"generated";s:21:"0.05742600 1379253492";}s:8:"aperture";s:5:"F 3.2";s:6:"credit";b:0;s:6:"camera";s:19:"Canon PowerShot G10";s:7:"caption";b:0;s:17:"created_timestamp";s:16:"15.09.2013 13:40";s:9:"copyright";b:0;s:12:"focal_length";s:6:"6.1 mm";s:3:"iso";i:80;s:13:"shutter_speed";s:8:"1/60 sec";s:5:"flash";s:9:"Not fired";s:5:"title";b:0;s:8:"keywords";b:0;s:5:"saved";b:1;}
    Now it looks like this:
    eyJ3aWR0aCI6MTYwNiwiaGVpZ2h0IjoxMDI0LCJmdWxsIjp7IndpZHRoIjoxNjA2LCJoZWlnaHQiOjEwMjR9LCJ0aHVtYm5haWwiOnsid2lkdGgiOjEwMCwiaGVpZ2h0Ijo3NSwiZmlsZW5hbWUiOiJ0aHVtYnNfZGlhcnkyMDEzXzA5XzIwLTAwMS5qcGciLCJnZW5lcmF0ZWQiOiIwLjg0MTQyNTAwIDEzNzk3MDE1MDAifX0=
    And Show Meta data in the gallery shows: No meta data saved

    I tried doing the Bulk action Import meta data and now the meta data for the uploaded pictures today is OK.

    After updating to 2.0.30 the Meta Data is loaded again.

    I’m actually experiencing this problem also. Even after I manually import the meta data it doesn’t fix the problem for all my photos. Any ideas on what is causing this? For what it’s worth I’m using the NextGen Gallery publish plugin for Lightroom to upload my photos along with the NextGen custom fields plugin.

    Sorry Mikey, but I have no clue. It works for me now. Actually I have had no issues with NextGen Gallery for a long time. I am now on 2.0.61 with WordPress 3.8.3 running utility theme.

    As it is resolved for me – I will mark this topic as resolved.

    @johntheviking – Thanks for your follow-up!

    Also, to note, that change with the meta data is that is is now stored in base64 that is why it does not look like it did in older versions.

    – Cais.

    Just to say. I figured out that whenever I save changes to images in the back-end, those images will have their meta_data scrambled when I check them in mysql. Re-importing their meta data fixes the problem but not sure what is causing this to begin with. It’s possibly a problem with NextGen custom fields.

    I just did a few more tests, disabling and deleting NGG custom fields plugin. Whenever I’m viewing the gallery in the admin interface and I press the save changes button (no changes made). All the images on that page (50 images), all have their meta data scrambled as JohnTheViking mentioned in the first post. I can re-import the meta data and all is fine until I save changes again.

    Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

    Sorry for hijacking this thread, should I create a new one?

    Thanks!
