NextGEN Gallery 2.0 Compatability

Hello,
I am using the latest version of WordPress and V1.9.13 of Next Gen Gallery. I plan to upgrade to 2.0 but seeing the number of issues that 2.0 has created, I am a bit hesitant to update.
If updating brings the site down, what do you suggest for a proper roll back?
