• Hi webaware,

you answered my initial question in the “Linking to HR images (again)” topic, but
    I did′t get it.
So I′m using NextGEN Gallery with Download Gallery plug in and Hi-res add on.
Both plugins are active. That is all I did for preparation.

My plan is to have a gallery with thumbs (no album) (very small picture size, 50kb).
The user is clicking on such a thumb and the single picture appears (medium size 800×600, 250kb).
Because of using template=download shortcode, the user is able to select the picture with a checkbox. There is also a button “download”. After a click, the download starts and the user gets a .zip file with the selected picture (in high resolution 1,3 MB).

At the moment only the plug ins are active. What do I have to setup that the hi-res download is working? Can you give me a little bit more details, like for dummies ??

    Thank you so much!

    G’day @die_ripps,

What Jon Humphrey did in Linking to HR images (again) was create a new folder that had the full-sized images named the same as the medium images. He then used that add-on to tell NextGEN Download Gallery where to find those images.

Because this isn’t core behaviour for the plugin, you need to have a bit of PHP skill to pull this off. You need to be able to edit that add-on to change the file path on the fly, so that it points to the full sized images.

I’ve started on a new premium plugin that supports thumbs, medium and full sized images in the way that you describe. It also supports passing a list of the selected images to an email to the website owner, or alternatively to Gravity Forms for inclusion in a form post. I hope to have it finished by the end of October, time permitting.

    cheers,
    Ross

the new plugin sounds great webaware…
