    I recently updated WordPress to the new 4.1 version, along with the subsequent updates to several plug-ins and themes that came as a result. After the updates, my site was no longer viewable and instead, my site displayed a 500 series internal server error message. At the advice of my ISP support team, I deactivated all of my plug-ins and my site came back online. I then reactivated them one-by-one. It turns out that NextGEN is the culprit…activate it, my site crashes…deactivate it and everything is fine…except all of my pictures (and I have a lot) are no longer visible.

    This needs to be fixed and quick…otherwise I have no choice but to use a different photo plug-in and I REALLY don’t want to do that! (Despite this “complaint”, I really like NextGEN and want to keep using it.)

    @twbeeson – Do you have the same issue if you only have NextGEN Gallery activated and no other plugins active? As in, deactivate all plugins (temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme) and then reactivate NextGEN Gallery only.

    Thanks for the reply and the suggestion. I deactivated everything except NextGEN and it worked. So I took it to the next logical progression and reactivated my other plug-ins until I found the incompatibility. The problem is a conflict somewhere between NextGen and jQuery Updater by Ramoonus. Everything works fine if one or the other is inactivated but when both are active, I get the 500 internal server error message.

    For now, my pix are more important so I have deactivated jQuery Updater but I would like to continue to use both.

    Any help?

    @twbeeson – We are currently seeing this issue with jQuery Updater (since it forces the site into using the newest version of jQuery, which also is not compatible with version of IE8 and earlier) where we use the version of jQuery bundled with WordPress itself to maintain the greatest compatibility.

    I have the exact same problem: I updated WordPress to v4.1 and NextGen to v2.0.66.37. Right afterwards it appeared to work, although page loads might have been slower than usual.

    Today, without any warning, Jetpack Monitor reported my site down. When I checked I got a long load (over 5 minutes) and then the following error message (WP_DEBUG in config file enabled:)

    Warning: opendir(/[path]/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products): failed to open dir: Interrupted system call in /[path]/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/pope/lib/class.component_registry.php on line 724 Fatal error: Class ‘C_Router’ not found in /[path]/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php on line 395

    Except that disabling Nextgen (I can still access the Admin backend) did NOT fix the problem.

    What can I do to get my site back up?

    edit: Disabling Nextgen did help, as a matter of fact. It took a few cache-clears to show. But how can I get my galleries working again?

    edit 2: My jQuery version is 1.11.1 (as reported by iThemes Security.)

    edit 3: Ok, I’m back up. The conflict on my site apparently was between NextGen and “WP 500px jsGallery”. Still…

    @150d – It would have been best to start your own topic but glad to see you sorted out the issue all the same. Have you advised the other plugin author of the issue you are having?

    Ok, I’ll keep it in mind. It looked like an identical issue, so I didn’t start a new thread.

    No, I didn’t follow up on “WP 500px jsGallery” yet. It had “experimental” status on my site and wasn’t actually in use anyway, so no big loss for me. I think I’ll drop the author a note, though.
