NextGEN Basic Thumb Gallery Not Working

I’ve got the same problem with the basic thumbnail gallery, sorry to hijack your post! It happened after the latest update I think.

Instead of loading the lightbox, it loads the individual image. The spacing in between thumbnails is larger now as well so it looks very messy.

This is a big part of my site, please help!

@tmalonemktg – You appear to be using the ImageBrowser effect for you thumbnail displays … which appears to be working correctly, too.

If this is not what you are trying to accomplish you will need to make some changes to your settings … in that particular display you will need to use the IGW (“green button”) in the TinyMCE editor to edit that display and change the setting under Customizations to No for “User ImageBrowser effect”

You may also need to do the same under Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic Thumbnails.

Finally coming back around to this website. I’m still having the same issues. I made the changes you suggested above but it had no effect on the lightbox showing up. Every picture and now even the video page shows in YouTube rather than within the lightbox or script of the website.

Any ideas of why? Please assist. Thanks

@tmalonemktg – It has been some time since we tried to address this … first thing to check, is your site up-to-date with all active plugins, your current theme, and WordPress core?

Yes, I updated the website to 4.3.1 and all plugins. The theme has been removed from themeforest so I’m not sure if there was an update before the removal. I have reached out to the designers of the theme because it seems to be having the same issue with the video plugin.

@tmalonemktg – You might also consider temporarily switching to a default WordPress Twenty series theme to see if the issue persists. This will help show if there is a theme component to the problem you are experiencing.
