Hi there – I upgraded a client’s site today to 4.1. Her site is very basic with only one plugin – the NextGEN gallery – I also upgraded this to the newest version – 2.0.66.37. Not sure which version I upgraded from but it was quite old.

Now – when I go to insert an album to her gallery page, I get a red triangle error image in the post – and on the front end it just says ‘no images found’.

I can still insert galleries – but they display in weird columns and it looks terrible. Also, if you add a gallery it doesn’t display the gallery title – so if you want to have multiple galleries on one page, there is nothing breaking up the thumbnails into different sections. This seems odd. So I have a page with a bunch of random looking thumbnails on it, instead of a bunch of different albums with titles and dates.

Also – it isn’t even displaying all of my galleries. The last three are missing entirely.

What I need is a page with multiple albums on it – each album should be displayed as one thumbnail – when you click on it, it goes to a lightbox where you can scroll through each picture in that album. Albums should be titled. This was all working perfectly before I upgraded today. I was using the Basic Extended Album feature. However, I wanted the albums to display in a grid instead of a column, so I was trying other options out. You would think that the Basic Compact Album would do just that – but it actually doesn’t show up in a grid – and it overlaid the title of the album with how many pics in the album, which made it illegible.

Regardless of all that, post upgrade I can’t get any album to display at all. Galleries doesn’t seem to be a good fix.

    – Who are you hosted with? Bluehost
    – What theme are you running? looks like a custom built theme
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated? NextGen
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to a WordPress Twenty series theme and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? Not sure I want to do this in case more bugs happen that I cannot rectify – I don’t want to dig myself into a hole.

I’d love some really basic help – I can’t write or read code so will not be able to make any changes that way. Should I just reinstall the plugin?
