Hi Kevin,
Thank you very much for your kind and sympathetic words. I really appreciate it! ??
This situation is indeed frustrating, however, I’m excited to say that Optimizer v2.0.1 is almost ready (complete with full compatibility for NextGEN v2.0.7x), and I expect to have it finished, fully-tested and ready for release next week.
You’ll be able to see when this update is available via the plugins page (or update-core.php page) in your admin, or on Optimizer’s main plugin page here at www.remarpro.com.
Unfortunately, as key parts of the NextGEN v2.0 API were completely removed (without any graceful deprecation or backwards-compatibility in place), NextGEN v2.0.7x has not only broken compatibility with Optimizer v2.0, but will also interfere with the update process to Optimizer v2.0.1 (as the fatal errors it has introduced prevent deactivation of Optimizer v2.0).
I’ll prominently post a number of workarounds upon release, to help users running NextGEN v2.0.7x update to Optimizer v2.0.1, but the best bet for a smooth update would be to temporarily roll-back to the immediately-preceding stable release of NextGEN v2.0.66.37 (which you can also use in the meantime to bridge the gap in compatibility).
Thanks again, and all the best!
Mark.
