Tried to upgrade from 2.0.11 to 2.0.14. Done via FTP to avoid problems and slow loading, but at the end, after a quarter of an hour or more, in the backend a message warned that can’t activate the plugin because of a fatal error.
Server crashed and blank pages in front-end, slow loading in back-end.
Rolled back to 2.0.11, empty again all caches (w3tc plugin), and after another half an hour server and site are resurrected, very slowly.
Before this I had tried the upgrade on a test site and there were no problems, but on this site I haven’t W3TC.
2.0.11 works, anyway heavy like an elephant and in the editor frequently there are problems with lost connection when WP begins the autosave.
Tomorrow I’ll try again with w3tc deactivated, not now because I’m too stressed.

I saw 2.0.17 so I tried it in a test site, and now the fatal error is here too:

The plugin can not be activated because it generates a fatal error
    Exception thrown
    No utilities registered for I_Fs

All plugins are deactivated, 2013 theme.
The difference here is that both the front and the backend are working well.

    Solved.
Today I’ve seen a new error: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in…
So I’ve tried again uploading new files via FTP, this time folder by folder, and it has worked. Now I have 2.0.17 working well as 2.0.11.

The only minor issue is that “NEW: Added the ability to override thumbnail settings for NextGEN Basic Albums” in the 2.0.14 changelog isn’t true. It’s real that CSS size for album can be ovveride, but images are pixelated, blurred, as before.
So I’ve manually changed again in /products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_album/adapter.nextgen_basic_album_controller.php the $image_gen_params width and height sizes.
I’m happy if the gallery works and I can also accept to change those values ??each upgrade, but when the major bugs will be solved, it wouldn’t hurt to correct this as well, since many people are interested in.

@tizz: on the album thumbnails, this is only implemented for extended albums. I’d like to confirm if you are still having issues with this. You’d need to go to a page / post, either add or edit an Extended Album, then click the accordion to “Customize” the display type, select to override thumbnail dimensions, then set your custom thumbnail dimensions there.

I’m not sure if you ran though that process or not yet. But if you did and you are still seeing pixelated thumbnails, please let us know.

Oh – since you’ve been customizing your album thumbs in the plugin files and css, you’ll want to remove any changes to ensure none of your changes are interfering/overriding those extended album settings. (Erick)

Yes it works. I didn’t know customization was from the page, I tried via CSS. The page had still the legacy shortcode, I hadn’t used the new function attach to post until now.
So I gave a name to the album (I had never had the name for the album, but this new feature needs to see it), then added the new shortcode and it works.
Thank you very much for all your work.
