    Hi!,

What does it exactly mean “Next update: None” on the Feed Sources page, column “Updates”.

Background info: I have “staggered” my feed update times (as was advised). Set the individual times per feed source to 1 hour and distributed the updates more or less evenly to avoid server overload.

Since this action, some (minority) feed sources report “Next update: None” in stead of “Next update: NN minutes”. The underlying feed source is a active (green dot in column “State”). Additionally, these feeds also report a number of hours since last updated (which is unexpected because it should say a number of minutes).

How to avoid this behaviour? It should be mentioned that the vast majority of the feeds behave properly, although they are identical in setup.

    Many thanks in advance!

  • Hi @anvas,

Does the Feed Source importing its feed or not? If it doesn’t, have you tried to fetch the posts manually? Does it work?

    Hi Eric,

    Thx for your reply.

    1. No, the feed source does not import. So that’s not gooed.
    2. Still, I don’t understand what it means “Next update: None”? Clearly, it coincides with the FS not importing, but I don’t see what triggers the behavior. And how to undo it.
    3. To make things worse, it seems that the behavior comes and goes at random. So, properly functioning and importing FSes suddenly show this behavior. And vice versa.

In brief, it makes the whole thing rather unreliable and not “care free”. I have to keep checking what’s going on.

    Any further suggestions?

    Hi @anvas,

Please check your cron status since probably you have a stuck cron system.

    Hi Eric,

Thanks again. I am happy to report that for now, all seems to be OK. Things sorted themselves out without me intervening.

Nevertheless, I might install the WP Croncontrol plugin to be able to monitor the cron.

Again, thanks. Should I encounter problems again and not be able to resolve them I’ll get back ??

    Bye!

Glad to hear everything is working for you now, @anvas .

Sure, please let us know if there are anything else we can help you with.
