next prev buttons visible but not working, no pagination

I have the meteor slides set to use both types of navigation. Although the prev/next buttons appear, clicking them has no effect. Likewise, although there is space for them, the pagination buttons do not appear. Not just do they not appear but looking at the HTML with Firebox debug tools, there are no buttons there at all. Just the container for the buttons.

Even when I configure meteor slides to only use prev/next buttons, they still appear but don’t function.

Firefox is not reporting any errors.
