Next or Previous Page home.php

[insert generic greeting]

I have opted to have a home.php file specifically to control the number of posts that show on my root page. I think this may have messed up my “Next Page” / “Previous Page” functionality, since I can endlessly click “Next Page” from my generated index.html page and go nowhere, even if the URL is updated.

Any pointers? I’d provide the code; but there’s nothing special about it. So, well, okay, here it is:

It works on category pages, however. My URL structure for archives, etc., is

/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

I’ve looked through other threads—several, in fact—and found no help. Am I missing something?
