Next Gen image tags not appearing in drop down

I’m having trouble with the tags I put on images in Next Gen galleries. I’d like to have a drop down menu that contains them but I can’t seem to figure out how to accomplish this. The tag widgets I use only seem to pickup the tags/categories in my blog posts but not the images. Is there a plug-in that exists to do this, or a way to program this directly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
