• Plugin just stopped working. As you can see on the screenshot, next check will be in the past time. Can you please help me figure this out?

wp-cron has to fire so WordPress can check scheduled jobs.
If using WP-Cron, this happens when a WordPress page is loaded.
If using a server cron job, this happens when the cron job calls wp-cron.php

It’s definitely server issue. I’m guessting it’s shutting down cron because of the overload. It works fine on the other website.

Is it possible to use some sort of external cron ?

You can define a server cron job as mentioned in the FAQ section, but whatever is stopping WordPress from running all those jobs will still remain. You mentioned the plugin ‘just stopped working’ so that implies something on the server or site has changed that interferes with wp-cron. I would start there.
