• I host my blog on my ISP webspace and own a URL that points to this space. In Options I’ve set the WorpessURL to the ISP address and the Blog URL to the purchsed URL.

Everything appears to work fine except Next Entries and Previous Entries in the default theme (next_posts_link and previous_posts_link). These somehow append an extra word into the link and it fails.

e.g my ISP url is website/blog
my purchased URL points to website blog
with the settings above in options “Previous Entries” links to website/blog/blog/

How do I change this behavious – Ive looked in vain for where next_posts_link gets it information from – I’m no perl expert either so keep it dead simple please.

    Cheers,
    Matt

  • Just hit your site and I’m not seeing the problem you’re describing. Clicked back through several pages without an error. Problem solved?

No, I’ve found that setting the Options -> Blog URL to the same as the WordPress URL fixes the problem (and I did this as a temporary fix) but I need the links to look like the purchased URL.

I’ve switched it back for now so you can see what I mean – please have another look.

I think I have been mis-using the WordPress URL and Blog URL parameters.

If I set the WordPress one to the purchased URL though, I loose all the graphical formatting ?? How do I get the links generated in my blog to reflect the purchased URL without paying for web hosting and without loosing the style formatting of the site?

(Or can’t this be done yet?)

    Same probleme here
    same workaround solved it..

    but why?

I don’t think there is a solution. WP doesn’t work with this kind of redirects and tricky URis.
