NexGEN WPML breaks link to translated home page

Hi, I upgraded NextGEN from 1.9.3 to the latest version and it broke access to our home page in French (https://qcbs.ca/fr). It redirects to our default English page (https://qcbs.ca). All the other French pages work, except for the home page. The link on the menu of the French site for the home page is also changed to https://qcbs.ca instead of https://qcbs.ca/fr when the plugin is activated.
I have now disabled NextGEN until I find a solution for this. We are using a template adapted from Thematic.
