NexGen slideshow resizing all images to 800pixels wide

  • I have a nexgen gallery on a page and it contains images that are 1200 pixels wide.

    I have changed the dimensions in the gallery to allow images of 1200 in both width and height.
    I done done the same in the gallery settings.

    my wide images are still showing up as no wider than 800 pixels.
    can someone please help me identify whats wrong?
