NewStatPress does not recognize spiders

  • for a long time NewStatPress does not recognize spiders.
    10 days earlier I stopped the list in htaccess, 3 days earlier I started with WP-ban.
    Only starting with a few checked spiders mentioned in WP-ban and it tells me :

    104.245.98.66 40
    144.76.15.235 1
    144.76.155.8 1
    144.76.64.115 2
    148.251.124.42 1
    176.10.104.234 1
    188.40.60.225 2
    5.9.145.132 1
    80.246.188.132 197
    Total Attempts: 246 in almost 3 days.
    Far most ip-numbers owned by Hetzner Online AG : Industriestr. 25 91710 Gunzenhausen Deutschland = Germany, Europe.

    Pulls a few hundred pages in let’s say 5 seconds. No fun for statistics.

    NewStatPress counts 0 = zero.
    But high scores of common visitors.

    Do I have to change something in a sort of settings ?

    Hi,

    there is only one option for look for: “Do not collect spiders visits”.
    If checked no one spider will be collected.

    However NewStatPress recognise spider by the list inside spider.dat:

    AboutUs|AboutUsBot|
    AboutUs|www.aboutusbot.org|
    AideRSS|aiderss.com|
    Alexa|ia_archiver|
    …

    so it not works directly with ip, but with the domains where it comes from.
