    Hi,

I love this mail service so far, but I’ve been having an issue with subscribers to my newsletter. I have a subscription form on the side widget of my page and there is also a pop-up form. Users successfully subscribe and they show up on my list. But right after the newsletter is sent out (with the new subscriber included), their emails disappear off the list of subscribers. I know they didn’t unsubscribe. It has happened a few times now. The only subscribers that stay in the list are the ones that I imported when I switched to this service. Any new subsequent subscribers have been thrown off the list. I don’t know why it’s happening or what settings to check or change to fix it. I’m using the free plugin.

    Thanks!

    Hi @hookedbythatbook,

Users being taken of subscribers the list isn’t expected. Could you confirm for us if your users are confirming these subscription emails (double-optin) ? If they haven’t confirmed the email, it’s possible that they are being removed. Colud you check on this using a test email or such and see if the email subscription works as expected after a double-optin?

Do keep us posted on how the recommended suggestion works out for you.

Hi, I used two different test emails. Both of them confirmed the subscription with the double optin and they were added to the list. A few hours after the newsletter was sent out, their names disappeared off the list. And after that I checked if that email can unsubscribe using the link in the newsletter, and it was directed to an error page. Then the user was able to subscribe again. There is an unconfirmed email on the list now, [email protected], which I assume came from you? It shows up on the list as unconfirmed.

I have also tried manually adding the email address to the list, but the same thing happens. The only emails that stay consistently on the list are the ones that I imported when I started using MailPoet. Any new ones after that have been experiencing the same problems.

I haven’t tried to set up a test newsletter to send out to just a few test emails yet.

    Hi @hookedbythatbook,

Something is definitely going on to remove the email address, from the list. This needs some debugging. This is done better via email (as private details might be needed). Could you please reach out to support directly from here. Please ensure, you add a link to this forum support thread in your email for additional context. Thanks.

Hi, I started out from the support page. I don’t have a paid plan, did you mean for me to contact support through that option? Thanks!

Hello. Sorry it’s taking me so long to respond. I think I’ve solved the issue. I created a new list and moved all the subscribers there from the default list created by the MailPoet plugin. Redirected all sign ups and emails to that list instead. That seems to have worked. I had some new sign ups last week, the newsletter went out on Tuesday morning, and so far the subscriber list still looks like it’s supposed to. Nobody got deleted. Thanks!

    Hi there @hookedbythatbook,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know it’s working for you now. I can’t think of any reason why the default Newsletter List wouldn’t have worked in the first place, but glad to hear you found a workaround by building a fresh, new list.

Given that we have not seen this behaviour reported by other users, it seems to have been something specific to your installation or the import you ran. For now, we’ll call this a one-off problem and mark this thread as solved, but please do open a new thread if you run into further trouble.
