• Hi,
I’m still new to your calendar, but have been enjoying it so far. I’ve had some styling issues because of an old theme I’m still using, but I like that you gave a dedicated section for CSS overrides. Very thoughtful!

So my issue is with our newsletter email that goes out nightly and I don’t know if this is a MEC issue, or a MailPoet issue, so please excuse me if I got this wrong.

When I created my events I populated the Event Link fields so that they would be taken to the actual offsite page that has the details. In testing on my site, this works as advertised in that anywhere I click on an event link it takes you to that offsite page.

When our newsletter goes out every night using MailPoet, it shows the event with a “Read More” link, but that link takes you to the full page event on our site instead of the offsite link it needs to go to. So I don’t know if this is a configuration error on my part, or an issue with MEC or MailPoet.

Regardless of that entirely, when you get to that full page event on our site, there is no where to click to go to the offsite page. So even if there is no way to fix the link in the email, once they reach the event on our site, I have no way to get them to the page they need to get to.

Hopefully I explained all of that well enough. So if I can’t configure the link in the email to point to the “Event Link”, is there any way to place the “Event Link” in the full page event on our site?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello @frgtech,

We need to know the steps to replicate.

Would you please provide us with some screenshots and images of the errors you faced step by step? Please send details as steps to reproduce in a fresh WordPress.

Also, can you please provide some info on the plugins and the theme you have too?

    Hi,

Here is the event that goes out in our newsletter.

..and here is the full page event that is linked from the newsletter.

After more thought, I’m less concerned about the “Read More” link taking you to the full page event on our site instead of the external link. However I do feel like there should be somewhere on the full page event that would take you to the external link. As it is, there is no way to reach that external link from the event page which just seems wrong. I guess I could manually put a link into each event post, but it really seems this should be automated somehow, and the reason you would populate the Event Link in the first place.

When the event is listed on the site in a Gutenberg block, both available links will take you to the external link, and there is no link to take you to the full page post.

It seems to me that you should be able to reach the external link from the full page post, and reach the full page post form a Gutenberg event.

I hope I was able to explain everything properly. Please let me know if you need further information.

    Cheers

@frgtech Please don’t use image src here. It makes your post unreadable, formats amazingly bad and convinces the automated spam system that you are up to no good.

    Just links to images please.

I posted screenshots and the other information you requested. Did I omit anything necessary to troubleshoot this issue?
