    Newsletter goes out every time a new post is published. It has been working fine, until this week.

    It shows one text link ‘Read more of this post’ and one button link ‘Comment’

    The text link includes a bunch of tracking info which seems to break the link somehow, as it only delivers a blank white page.

    The Comment link works exactly as it should, but delivers the user to the Comments section (as it should) at the bottom of the page.

    Under Settings, I have WordPress URL as

    https://www.leeaaron.com/wp2012

    and Site URL as

    https://www.leeaaron.com/

    Example from today’s newsletter:

    The Text link goes to the unsecure

    http://www.leeaaron.com/wp2012?action=user_content_redirect&uuid=1288a52c90492954ba3b4c28698f4c740e81776c460410dd7acaa129fac26ae6&blog_id=200524112&post_id=9202&user_id=14865198&subs_id=248708748&signature=09420a2a7cf925c80a0620153d36ac26&email_name=new-post&[email protected]&encoded_url=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubGVlYWFyb24uY29tL21lcnJ5LWNocmlzdG1hcy8

    If I strip away all the tracking info and just type in

    <https://www.leeaaron.com/wp2012/?p=9202>

    it will automatically redirect to the proper page, with the proper secure address

    <https://www.leeaaron.com/merry-christmas/>

    The Comment link redirects through WordPress.com but does go to the secure site and, as said, shows the post, albeit from the starting point of the Comments section.

    <https://public-api.wordpress.com/bar/?stat=groovemails-events&bin=wpcom_email_click&redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.leeaaron.com%2Fmerry-christmas%2F%23respond&sr=0&signature=91d21059cb07cd2a49306c7a4b1e79ac&blog_id=200524112&user=14865198&_e=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&_z=z>

    Can this please be fixed so my Subscribers can actually see the post they are clicking to see?

    Thanks!

    The same thing is happening on my site and the site of a friend that I help maintain. We both do daily posts on our site.

    I wouldn’t have known it but a follower of both our sites emailed me last night about the problem.

    Hello @saladgoat – I checked the link for which you mentioned it is going to an insecure page – however, on my side, I see it is redirecting to a secure page automatically. You can check the video here ?

    Also, I have just subscribed your site using our test email address, you can publish a post and then we will check it on actual email if the issue is still there.

    Hi @bizanimesh thanks for having a look. I use NoScript extension on my browser and didn’t realize I had not given permission to the http version of the site. ???♂?

    Once I did that, the link did re-direct to the secure page.

    But it still begs the question, why is the link sending to the http address instead of the https address?

    Hello there – I think that is happening because your homepage currently redirects from HTTP to HTTPS URL, but if I load your other pages like “Contact”, “Shop”, or any post page on HTTP, they don’t get redirected to HTTPS. If you resolve this, then the main issue should also be resolved.
