I have three different newsletters/e mail notifcations I send to 3 different lists. Recently, a subscriber to one of the lists told me e mail notifications had stopped. I checked and the status toggle for that newsletter was deactivated.” I toggled it to “active” and the newsletters resumed.

Why did it deactivate? And why doesn’t the plugin send you a notice that a newsletter has deactivated? If the subscriber hadn’t contacted me I might never have noticed.

    Hi there @richards1052.

    Thanks for reaching out!

To be honest, I don’t recall ever seeing someone reporting an issue with newsletters suddenly deactivating.

Is there any chance you disable either the newsletter by mistake?

What version of the MailPoet plugin you are using?

No, no chance. I have never deactivated a newsletter. I would also assume that if this happened to me if might have happened to other users, who might not have told you about this.

The only change I can think of is that I edited each of my three newsletters I send to my lists. But I was careful to save and reactivate each one. Is it possible the newsletter wasn’t saved or reactivated and this changed the status of the list? What’s odd about that is that all I needed to do to get the newsletter to resume was to change the status from inactive to active. I didn’t have to do anything regarding the newsletter settings themselves.

First, I’d like to clarify if you are really referring to a newsletter or to a Latest Post Notification. I ask that because once a newsletter is sent, you can’t edit it and send it again. You can only duplicate it and send a new newsletter.

I imagine you are referring to a Latest Post Notification. In this case, in order to edit a Latest Post Notification, you need to first deactivate it. That leads me to believe that this is what happened:

It’s likely that your attempt to reactivate the Latest Post Notification failed for some reason – an internet connection hiccup, a plugin conflict, or a server error. It’s really hard to determine which of these was actually the case, to be honest.

But considering that we can’t replicate the issue and there haven’t been other reports, I don’t believe this is an actual issue with the plugin. It was likely a one-off issue.
