News sitemap does not use Yoast SEO title

So… now the title in your news sitemap does not match the actual title on the post itself? If so, I don’t think Google News is going to like that much.

So the news sitemap should not match the title tag but what is in the <h2> tag?

For example what should the title be in the news sitemap for the page
https://www.godairyfree.org/dining-out/tompkins-square-bagels

Tompkins Square Bagels in NYC is a Haven for Dairy-Free
or
NY, New York – Tompkins Square Bagels

So your post (H1) title is “NY, New York – Tompkins Square Bagels” but the page title (header title tag) is “Tompkins Square Bagels in NYC is a Haven for Dairy-Free”?

I’m not an expert but I would not recommend doing that as it looks like it’s against GN guidelines or at least strongly dis-advised. Read/see more on:
