News articles in the backend…?

I run a site multi-author blog and I was wondering if there is a solution to post articles in the backend? I am planning to post blogging tips daily. I know of the global message plugin but I was thinking a solution where the posts are displayed similar to the way they are in the blog itself (and not as private messages).

Ideally, it would be great if the authors themselves could post articles in the backend too, and the articles would be displayed in the dashboard.

There must be something out there for this. Can you give your input please?
