Newest WP Retina 2x update doesn’t work

    I just installed the newest update (5.0.1) of WP Retina 2x, and the plugin immediately stopped working properly. Previously, it had worked just fine.

    But now, when I go to Media>Retina, I no longer see the usual list of all my images. Instead, I see just one of my images, and next to the image, there’s a message that says:
    Fatal error: Class Meow_Admin not found in wp-retina-2X/core.php on line 476.”

    Also, when I clicked “Details” about the newest version of the WP Retina 2x plugin prior to executing the update, the Details said that I would receive an important message during the update. But I received no message. Something is seriously wrong with the latest update. I’ve never had a problem before with WP Retina 2x, but the newest update clearly isn’t working properly. What do you advise? And what was the important message that I was supposed to receive?

    Hi,

    First, make sure the other plugins you are using are updated (by that, I meant plugins made by me: Media File Renamer, Media Cleaner, WP/LR Sync).

    If everything fine, make sure WP Retina 2x is deleted from your WP, and re-install it. That should work ??

    You will see that important message only when it’s installed and if you are a Pro user. Otherwise, you are not concerned ??

    Hi,

    I followed the steps you described: 1. Make sure all my other plugins are updated (I’m not using any of your other plugins, and all my other plugins are already updated to the current versions). 2. Delete WP Retina 2X from my WP. 3. Reinstall WP Retina 2x.

    But unfortunately, I got the same result. WP Retina 2x fails to work in all the ways that I described earlier. There’s definitely a problem with it.

    I’m still having the same problem with the new update of WP Retina 2x that everybody else is having. Until the plugin maker comes out with a new and improved update, my strategy for getting my website back to functioning order was to replace the current version of my website with a backup version of my website made the day before I installed the newest update of WP Retina 2x. I did it because I wanted to revert to the prior version of the plugin and also eliminate any other lurking website problems that the newest plugin update might have caused.

    I think the WordPress codex would do everybody a favor by making it possible to download earlier versions of plugins. That way, if the newest update of a plugin doesn’t work, we can easily access an earlier plugin version.

    I found the problem, I just hope it’s actually the same you are all having ?? Anyway, please update (version 5.0.2), it should fix it.

    Yeah, seems to work for everyone. Thanks for your patience, it was the biggest update ever to the plugin for the past 5 years and it was very needed. I’m glad everything could be resolved within a few hours ??
