Wordfence seems to have crashed my entire site. I can’t login to my site at all, view it, or anything.

    Here’s the message I get:

Warning: require_once(vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/init.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas01_data02/21/2880721/html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/wordfence.php on line 51

    Hi,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. This sounds like the update did not complete properly, so when the firewall tries to load, some of the Wordfence files are missing.

The best way to fix this is to use FTP to rename the Wordfence folder at “wp-content/wordfence/” folder to “wordfence-disabled” — this will disable the plugin, so the site should work again. After that, you can log in and install Wordfence again so that all of the files are in place. (It will remember your previous settings.)

Let me know how it goes, or if you need additional details.

Once the site is working again, if it’s possible to save a copy of the “wordfence-disabled” folder, we could take a look at it to help prevent this in the future. We’ve seen an error like this before, but haven’t been able to reproduce the problem, since it is rare.

    Hey Matt,

Thanks for your quick response! I actually did a backup of my site to yesterday through my host GoDaddy, and talked to my hubby about it (he works in hosting there). I simply waited for a while, as I’m on a managed account, and now everything seems to be okay. Everything’s updated except for WP’s latest version, which I was told GD is working on.

So it may not have been your plugin’s fault exactly, maybe just a way it wasn’t working w/ the host as they were trying to update WP or something.

    Thanks!

Great, glad to hear it’s back up and running!
