• Hi all. I am very new to this and I am completely lost. I am trying to run a blog on Yahoo small business web hosting. I manually upgraded to the newest version by following the directions. At first everything seemed fine then one by one the links stopped working and now I get this whenever I try to navigate to a different page:

Too many redirects occurred trying to open “https://createtoearn.com/blog/category/workingartist/”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

I’m on a Mac, if that matters, and it happens in Safari and Firefox. It doesn’t matter which theme I pick, they all do this. I don’t even know where to start to fix this. If I could start over from scratch I would but I don’t know how. What should I do?

  • are you using any of these in your permalinks?

For performance reasons, it is not a good idea to start your permalink structure with the category, tag, author, or postname fields. The reason is that these are text fields, and using them at the beginning of your permalink structure it takes more time for WordPress to distinguish your Post URLs from Page URLs (which always use the text “page slug” as the URL), and to compensate, WordPress stores a lot of extra information in its database (so much that sites with lots of Pages have experienced difficulties). So, it is best to start your permalink structure with a numeric field, such as the year or post ID.

I didn’t even know settings was there. I set it to default and now everything works. Thank you so very much!
