Newbie seeks help with donation plugin

  • Hi,

    I am relatively new to this and seem to be having trouble understanding some of the steps. It appears that a certain level of knowledge is required which I do not yet have. For example, I tried downloading new version of webpress then uploaded it using FTP. What do I do now because no changes are evident. Also, I wanted to put donation button on blog. I downloaded plugin to computer then uploaded using ftp, activated the plugin and again, nothing happened. I am obviously missing a step. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and please speak to me like I am idiot so I can learn.
