Newbie seeking assistance with finishing site

  • Hello folks!

    I hope this is the right forum to ask for help with my site development, apologies if not, and please point me in the right direction. The pandemic caused my old business to collapse, and im attempting to start a new venture.

    I am not an IT tech, and do not know any code. I am attempting to launch a new online webshop, and have pretty much got the site to where I want it to be, but now am hitting roadblocks as im trying to finish it off.

    I would be greatly indebted for all assistance offered.

    Amongst the many many optimisations and other help I will be soliciting here, can I start by asking how to I change my out of stock label to read “out of stock” and not “read more” ? Its a fairly common question, but I am not finding an easy answer.

    I am using elelmentor free and Astra, but I think I am pretty much overriding the theme defaults, and this has me worried about optimisation, but I dont understand any of it.

    For the shop pages, I used a template and woolentor I think for single product, and build the shop page using mostly the post type grid and a redirection plugin. elementor header and footer along with Megamenu, small issues all along. Will address here.

    I hope this is ok folks ? Ill keep posting and try and keep this thread informative and educational.

  • First thing I’d do is turn off that ‘coming soon’ popup and get down to business.

    The site doesn’t need to be perfect but what you have hidden there behind that coming soon popup looks very good and hydroponics is interesting to many gardeners with seasonal or ‘small spaces’ issues and such.

    As to fixing that button text, you probably should ask for help with that from the Woolementor people. I think that’s where that problem originates.

    Thanks a ton Hawkins!
    This is the first feedback I have had on the site and its left me a bit stoked!
    Ill get it going as soon as I have my stock and inventory in place. I am not a tradesman by profession and the whole deal is a new world for me. Haha.. But super thanks!
    I do admit I would want it to be as flawless as possible, as a personal experience when I visit online shops that seem incomplete, it leaves me unsure.

    I dont think the button is woolentor problem ? As in you are suggesting that the widget I used for the product grid is to be addressed, then that would be the ‘Edit post type grid’ that came along with Sizzify widgets. Cool, so that is where I should be looking!

    Reason for using this widget, it allows me to show product short description (Which the EA widget did not) as well as show only specific categories in the product grid. Any better solutions ?
