Newbie Question: What Are All These Warnings?
-
I just re-installed WordPress in order to upgrade from 2.8.x to 2.9.1. Was not a particularly smooth process but I somehow managed to get it done, now I’m back to zero with learning my way around wordpress and trying to do something with it.
In my Admin panel, under “WordPress Development Blog” I am seeing a whole slew of warnings like this:
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 564 in /mnt/files/s/schatzkins.com/www/wp/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 13262
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 510 in /mnt/files/s/schatzkins.com/www/wp/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 13350
It looks like there are about 50 entries in that column. Likewise, I see similar warnings under “Plugins”
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 564 in /mnt/files/s/schatzkins.com/www/wp/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 13262
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 510 in /mnt/files/s/schatzkins.com/www/wp/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 13350
What are all these warnings? I haven’t done a THING since running the initial installation; haven’t tried to put in any plugins or do any development. So, why am I seeing all these warnings, and is there anything I can to make them go away.
