• I am new to WordPress but am figuring most stuff out. For some reason I can not resolve how to change the bumber of posts on the front page of my blog. Only 5 are showing up on the bottom part of my blog. When I hit Page 2 to see the rest, I get an error 404.

In my settings, I have it set to show 20 posts.

    Any ideas?

  • Hm, it sounds like your theme is badly coded. Does this behavior persist when you switch to default theme?

I have not used the defult theme. The theme is built by a friend. What part of the code could be bad so I can advise her? Thanks so much~!

Before trying to recode your theme, just put the blog in default and see if that makes any difference. If all works as intended (20 posts on the frontpage), your friend will have to take a look at the index.php of the theme. Perhaps the number of posts are hardcoded or something.

It does work in default. Thanks, I will pass it on.

any idea what in the index.php would effect this?

    Multiple loops and/or custom queries.
