    Hi,

I’ve searched the posts and I didn’t find what I was looking for…

I have the 3-column premium semiologic theme.

QUESTION: How do I get to put things/posts/ads in the middle portion/column? Is this done manually or automatically? Do I need to activate a plugin for this?

    my website is: https://www.magandangbalita.com

    Thanks!

Is this a free plug-in? I want to try Ad-space but site said it costs like $250

Whoops, it used to be stand-alone and free, but I guess that it’s only included with the Semiologic Pro package now. Try one of the other plugins in the Codex’s Advertisement plugin category.

Is there any other similar plug-in to Ad-Space out there? I couldn’t find one that would allow me to organize my ads.

I am not familiar with the three-column version of the Semiologic theme. Is the content displayed in the middle column? If so, then most of the plugins listed in that Codex category allow you to place ads amongst the content.

I am not trying to display ads amongst the content. I am trying to display ads in my sidebar and doesn’t know how to edit my sidebar.php file. Can you please help me?

Ah, so the middle column is a sidebar? Well, just try a few of the plugins listed there. I’m sure that some of them have easy-to-use placement options. If not, they should have an easy-to-add display code that can be simply copied and pasted into your sidebar template.

I am just trying to embede a code into my sidebars. Do you want to look at my siderbar.php file and offer me an advice where exactly I should put my javascrips provided by ad companies. I am not just using Adsense because most of those plug-ins were written for Google ads.

    Thanks for you help

Do a search through these forums for “adding ads” or “adding advertisements”. There tons of useful threads and tutorials to be found.

Yes but Search function in this form hasn’t been working right for last few days.

It’s working just fine right now. If you prefer to use Google, go to google.com and add “site:www.remarpro.com” (without the quotes) in front of your search query.

I used to have blix as my theme and shifted to semiologic premium 3-column which is free. When I installed the theme, Everything worked perfectly. But the middle column displays nothing. I’m not sure if the three-column works for the premium (free) version. semiologic.com uses the 3 column though middle portion post ads only.

    Help please, Denis, macmanx, anybody?

How do I post/place things/entries/ads/images on the second column?

junasis :: You should think of what you are posting as being the main column (which is often the center column). Think of any extra columns as being a sidebar and a navbar (as they are often referred to). The sidebar is part of WordPresses native functionality and you use it simply by calling its function in php, get_sidebar(). If you want to add a third column you can make your own file, similar to sidebar.php, and include it with either a php include function or a cutom made get_navbar() function. In order to get the columns to appear correctly the key is to have a good cascading stylesheet! There are several examples of this everywhere… I always like to point people to positioniseverything.net for help with columns in CSS.

You can check out my website for an idea of what 3 columns can be… my site has an expanding center column with a minimum width that will fill any browser and is cross-browser compatible.

If I have totally lost you let me know.

As a side note, on my website I actually add my navbar (my left column) using my footer.php template file. This was a no brainer for me since EVERY site view has a footer and navbar (so I could have used the header file, too).

    @junasis, @soyola:

ad space is a rock solid plugin, which I highly recommend that you consider.

i’ve yet to redo the page on my site, i’ll be posting a demo sooner or later, and i’ll likely be selling it as a separate product shortly. in short, though:

    – it lets you define ad blocks for use as stand alone components or in ad distributions
    – it lets you define ad distributions that display a predefined selection of ad blocks in predefined locations on your page (e.g. below the header, above the posts, in the sidebar, etc.)
    – it lets define which ad distribution goes to which context (page, post, home…).

in the future, these contexts will get more diverse (e.g. post when user lands from a search engine). and I’m looking into many other features of interest to you.

the point being, ad space is not your average adsense inserter. it is a product that is being built with niche marketers, for niche marketers, with ad distribution maintainability and page view revenue maximization in mind.

    best,
    D.
