    Hello,

I just downloaded this plugin today and wow! loving it. Amazing work.

One question, our site is setup for staging and production environments. Usually plugins do ok when setup in staging. I notice that the focus webpage was not treated the same between the 2 environments.

Would you guys please suggest the best way forward to work with this plugin? Should we only work with the plugin on live site and ignore any changes in staging? or vice versa?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi @sunilmodi,

Thank you for your feedback. Really appreciate it.

You can use Squirrly SEO for both staging and live websites.
For the Focus Pages and SEO Audit you need to have your website accessible by our crawlers.
For metrics like Traffic, Organic search and Rankings you need to connect to Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

My suggestion, use the on-page SEO while in staging to optimize the articles and use the monitoring features after your website is live to track your progress.

    Best, Calin

    Thanks for the response Calin,

We do have it setup that way and this is our preference to use as well. However, we noticed that staging focus page and live site focus page are counted as two separate pages. Should we use the focus page feature only on live?

Secondly, staging has visibility turned off for all the pages. Is that something that can be controlled for individual pages separately in the two environments? Meaning, home page has noindex in staging but doindex in live?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Yes, you should focus on Focus Pages only for the live website as it contains many insights from Google too.

If your visibility is turned off from “Settings > Reading”, it’s normal for staging websites but Squirrly will notify you about that in all reports.
You can ignore that signal for your staging website but for the live website is vital to get notifications in case you have visibility issues on your pages.

    Calin
