Newbie page is not showing anything…

Is there a step by step guide on how to get this plugin working? I’ve been reading the post and the documentation. I was able to show the list using shortcode but now trying to figure out how to make the links go to individual event page and sell ticket using paypal. I don’t need custom setting. I was hoping that with all your default setting I can get this working out of the box. Please advise.
