• Hi all, I’m new to wordpress and php/mysql as well, So please don’t flame me :).

I have created my site at https://whoiam55.at.preempted.net. Now my question is “WordPress is working great, but when I try to register a new user, it say ok user is created, check your mail with in few minutes” but no mail is arriving. Seems I have to change some settings in(Like filling my pop/smtp server address/username/password) But I don’t know in which file I have to do this.

I’m not a native english speaker so sorry for my bad english. Hope you guys undrestand my problem.

    Thnx for you time.

  • is the email possibly getting killed because its getting sent to a spam folder?

Are you running wp 1.5.2? It will say what version in the footer of the /wp-admin section

No, It’s not going to spam folder, I also tried given my personal mail ID as well. Yeah I’m using 1.5.2. What I believe that I have to configure/provide some settings somewhere

There shouldn’t be anything to configure. Are you trying to register yourself or another new user? And are you giving it the right email address (theirs and not yours?).

I’m trying to creat a new user to test it. Of course I’m giving right address. I would be happy, if you can do me a favor. come to https://whoiam55.at.preempted.net and try registering.

Hey guys, is there any solution for my problem ?

Well, I did try to register…. it didn’t give me any errors, but I haven’t received the email.

The only thing I can offer at this point is to ask the devs how does WP send it’s mail. Find out what method is used, then contact your ISP and see if it’s supported. If they don’t support that method of emailing from PHP then there’s not much that can be done.
