Newbie issues

I have a couple of problems:

1. I just upgraded to the newest version of WP and all the sudden my category bar reads that there are no categories

2. I am trying to align the search bar on the right side of the category bar and cannot seem to be able to do it.

3. When viewed in IE, the pages are displayed vertically. when in firefox, theyre horizontal. I want them to be horizontal.
