Newbie install

  • Hey Everyone,
    Ok – yes I am a newbie with WordPress. I may have made a mistake when I installed WordPress on a Windows 2008 IIS 7 box.

    I want to have a web site named “mywebsite”. When I installed WordPress – I named the initial or default web site “mywordpress”. I can’t get any help on how to move or deploy the web site that I developed in IIS to the other site name.

    So – should I just start all over – and when I install WordPress use the site name “mywebsite”? Just trying to figure out the easiest thing to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I am new to WP and have download the zip file and tried to run it but it will not run on my laptop. My site will be hosted at Uplinkearth. I dont know if that information is needed. Please help :0)

    @walthour: You may wat to post your own topic. That way, you may likely get more help specific to your issue.

    Also, despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Also, It’s easier for volunteers to help you if you have your own topic. Therefore, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents from being able to track issues by topic. ??
