• I installed 2.9 and am using the default theme. I go to Widgets and it shows a “Sidebar 1” on the right with NOTHING in it. Yet the right sidebar on the theme has a lot of “widgets” in it. And I can’t seem to be able to remove any of them.

    HELP…and “Thanks”

  • Are you using the WordPress Default 1.6? If you were to drag a widget into the sidebar 1, Do you get any error or does the theme change?

Most Themes put a few Widgets in the Sidebar by default –

Just drag and drop the Widgets you really want to use into the Sidebar and configure them as you want – that will override at least some of the default Widgets – Drag and drop has always been enough for my humble needs to fine tune the Sidebar

Widgets can also be taken out by modifying Theme code but that is above my pay-grade. ??
