    Hello,
My name is angela and I just started working with wordpress. I’m using it to make a website. The first thing I want to ask is , I started working on another computer and I want to keep working on the construction of the website from my home computer. How can I do that? I haven’t posted it online, I used xampp.
Please if someone can help me I would really appreciate it.
    Thank you for your time.

you need a remote access login program. there are plenty for mac and pc.

can you name one please? I really don’t have clue.

logmein is the one that springs to mind but i’ve not used it. just google “remote access client” or “remote access application” and go fishing for the one that works the best for you.

try them out, some are free, some aren’t but they may have free trials that you can use to test them.

thank you so much I will take a look at what you said. Is there any other way?

you could try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PypnH9WE6yE. i’m not sure if its going to work, i’ve not tried it and it’s a video on youtube!

i think the principles are sound though, you’ll need to configure your local server to accept incoming traffic from a specific ip address and from no others otherwise your installation is wide open to being hijacked and your computer not long after that i’m sure!

the remote access clients are much more straight forward.

The remote access clients are more safe? from being hijacked I mean.

nothing’s entirely safe but if you’re using a secured network with a strong password for access to the network itself, and strong credentials for the remote access login then you should be fine.

they’re just simpler to use rather than poking about in apache config files.

Well I will look into it. But it’s really new to me this whole wordpress thing. Thank you so much for the help and for your fast replies.

no worries. take your time with it and ask as many questions as you need to. the forum’s a good place for answers and there’s the codex with all of wordpress’ own information and this website is great for beginners: https://www.wpbeginner.com/

It’s just that I have a timeline for the website. My boss told me to make a website in a month or so. And I really got very anxious about it. It’s like a test. So I’m trying to figure this whole thing out. But really thank you so much for replying so quickly.
