• I just installed wordpress to my website and imported my wife’s blog from blogger.com. When I go to the site
https://www.flatcreekmo.com/blog I can see the text but don’t see any of the pictures.
I use a Mac and Firefox, but I tried using my old PC, running outlook express and it can’t see the prictures either. On the PC I get little boxes with x’s in them where the pictures should be.

    What am I doing wrong?

  • outlook express probably won’t be the key to successfully viewing a web page. ??

When viewing in your browser, be sure you’ve cleared the browsers cache (ctrl-F5 works to force most browsers to reload the page non-cached).

I went to the link and see what appears to be a functioning blog. Where should I see pictures?

The imported from blogger bit just caught my eye. Sorry, I’m a bit slow sometimes.

Odds are, your articles have images in them hosted still at blogger.com. Blogger.com probably disallows hotlinking of images.

Thanks HandySolo, but I tried running the program you recommeded and it did not trasfer the pictures after all.
Although I think you are right. I may have to have my wife upload all the pictures to our site. Any other suggestions?

Did you try the Blogger Image Import plugin?

    https://notions.okuda.ca/wordpress-plugins/blogger-image-import/

If so, and it didn’t work, what went wrong? I am interested in keeping it functional so I would like to know what went wrong so I can help or fix the plugin.

Thanks Poco, I got the images to import using the Blogger-image-import plugin.
    It was easy.

But now I don’t see any of the pictures of the new posts that my wife has added.
When I go into the admin panel I can see them but when I go to the blog https://www.flatcreekmo.com/blog I don’t see anyting but the text. AS My 23 old son might say WHAT UP?

Looking at the most recent post “Handling Lucy at Gray Summit, MO” I don’t see any images referenced in the source.

    Here is the current source

Was contacted by Susan in Oklahoma 2 wks. prior to train and handle Lucy for one day at the Gray Summit show in Missouri. Here are some photos of Lucy’s first show!

Are you sure that you inserted the images into the post? With the default WordPress image importer you must click on each image that you have uploaded and select “Send to editor” to insert the appropriate HTML into your post to reference the images. I don’t like the image handling much in the default WordPress install and I have been trying others like Image Manager which is a bit better. I’m really hoping for something as simple as Blogger had it. I’m still looking for the perfect plugin.

Well I thought she did, but after looking at it again she had just uploaded the files, or pictures.
So I tried dragging them to the up there and they seem to have moved. But I still can’t see them.

The thought occured to set up an automatice import from blogger using the plugin’s since she can work blogger and there are several other bloggers there with links to her site.
Do I have to delete ones she tried to do manually on our wordpress site so they will move over from blogger?

I am really a novice at this but I wish to learn so teach me oh Yoda!

The goal is to have blog (or blogs) that my wife can edit and keep adding to.
Have quite a bit of links from bloggers in the Anatolian or Guardian Dog / Companion Dog associations.
She is ok with Blogger and can work it ok. She has seen other sites that are really special and like the features so we might check out how they did what they did.
The thought occurred to set it up on our website since it needs updating and traffic on it.
So I downloaded WordPress and set it up. Sorry I still don’t know how to work it completely, and I have to work on it in my spare time.

I really think that having both sites up and running and being able to transfer the text and pictures from blogger.com will be the best solution for a while.

So what should I do to set this up in a more automated fashion, or should I just do a manual upload every time Mary does and change on here blogger site.

Here is here blogger site: https://kussarkisi.blogspot.com/
and Here is our blog site: https://flatcreekmo.com/blog/

I need to get Mary to update the flatcreekmo site, it is really dated and needs updating, but that is another project.

Thanks so much for everyones help, I really appreciate it.

You could do the regular import from Blogger though automating it is a bit more complicated…

There was a thread recently on the subject. The solution was to go with the Postie and just email the posts to the blog.

I believe there is a way to automate the import, but since you don’t really need to keep the Blogger Blog that is overkill for you. The Postie solution is probably better and I will be giving it a try.
