Newb…can I change the layout of each page?

Fairly new to this and I am trying to basically build a site off of a wordpress theme. Now I’ve managed to customize the header and all, but the boxes (tag/archive and so on) need to go/be altered on a page by page basis….

Sorry if this is daft, but can I do this and how?
