• I am a new WP and Woocommerce user, and I’m not that familiar with the platform and tools – which I feel gives me a rather fresh perspective. My expectations for the CTXFeed were high. The downside, as another contributor wrote, is the price for what in my opinion should be included. The usefulness of a feed that doesn’t allow me to be selective about the products included in the feed is questionable. For instance, when I select the Google Shopping product category ‘apparel/accessories’, and create a feed, the feed will include any active product in my store – not just apparel/accessories. Every active product is thrown into the apparel category, bundled and sent to Google – why? Since values and attributes are relative to the category, shouldn’t I be able to choose what is included in the feed/category and what isn’t? Additionally, I would like the ease of renaming my feed with a quick name change option – that isn’t offered within this product. Lastly, and most importantly, no matter the attributes selected under the apparel/accessories category, Google is not recognizing the required values and attributes needed to approve my apparel products. The functionality of the CTXFeed is too limited in my humble opinion.

    Hello @plesantpeasant

Thank you for your valuable opinion.

We truly respect your thoughts about our plugin and features but I believe you have got some wrong ideas about the plugin. let me clarify.

First of all, the category issue you have explained –
You have added apparel/accessories as Google Shopping product categoryon your feed and expecting that it will pick up all the products of apparel/accessories category of your store but this is not the option you can filter out items. This attribute defines on which google shopping category the item will be added. To know more about this attribute, Please read This documentation
However, picking up the right Google category based on attributes is not possible. But, Google can detect it if you have the right attribute and identifiers. the Google category Attribute overrides the auto detection.

So, how can you filter out items based on a category on the feed? – To let you know the Category filter option is not available in the free version.

    File rename
Renaming a feed title is possible and you need to Edit the feed to rename it. However, renaming a feed title with a quick access rename button is not available at this moment. However, we will try to add this feature in a future version.

    Apparel/accessories
I think you should’ve created a support ticket before including it in a review. We have our dedicated support team to help you but without letting us know the issue in detail, it’s hard to find a solution for both of us.

Now about the Price and the limitations in the free version –
We are trying our best to provide our users with the best experience. To ensure quality a team is working behind the plugin and putting in their best effort to make it even better. To support such a big team we also need support from our users and we believe our users would also love to see us grow.

I hope the above points will help you resolve the issues you have faced and also believe you will rethink about the review.

    Best regards,

Thanks for the response @ansarybandal. It is great knowing you have a support option for the CTXFeed. By no means should my review discourage others from trying the Plugin. In fact, I highly suggest others give it a try to see how it works for their use. In my case, when doing a scheduled fetch from Google Merchant, the CTXFeed does not deliver what I would like from my Woocommerce product list. That is a deal-breaker because, for now, I only need the CTXFeed for the one task and a handful of products – to be more specific 3 products with variable attributes.
