    Hi.

I just wanted to share our latest WordPress site: https://www.rockycreekwinery.ca

As you’ll see, it’s not a completely straight-forward WP site… there were a few changes:

    – unique home page design
    – sidebar feeds pull in two different categories of blog posts

Would love any feedback (on the design or the WP usage)!

Still doing some debugging for IE6, so if you spot any bugs in that wonderful little piece of browsing technology… that’s probably why.

    Cheers!

Love the style; deep mahogany coloring and beautiful, crisp graphics. Sophisticated style, great layering of pages and easy to navigate.

My only caveat: I like how it looks, though I had a little trouble reading the colored text. The coloring matches the theme, but if it were a little bit larger font or a lighter color, that might be nice for older people who have some difficulty reading smaller font (espcially with Windows Vista). The blog posts are much easier to read.

    Thanks for the feedback, folks.

For the moment, our client hasn’t said anything about the text size / color so we’ll probably just leave it as is.

But for the future, it’s a great thing to keep in mind.

Graphics are very good. And nice deep burgundy red colors! I can almost imagine the legs and nose on a glass of cab. The graphics and color combinations should help sell the wine. Your client should be pleased.

What a great site, beautifully constructed, great design but subtle.
Glad to see you haven’t gone for overkill with sales, I’ve bookmarked the site, and put blackberry port on my christmas wish list.
    Good luck.

Oh. My. Gawd… is it ever tasty! Very dry for a fruit wine… not too sweet like many of the desert wines are. Mmm……

I wish I had a bottle in front of me right now ??

Thanks for the tip. I guess being a Brit, Port is kind of part of Christmas.

Very nice site. Doesn’t look like a typical “wp” site, which I love. Question, for the drop down menu, did you use a wp plugin of any kind or just code that yourself? I need a drop down menu for a site I’m working on but it’s the first site I’ve ever done in WordPress and frankly, it has me a little stumped.

The site is simply gorgeous! You should be very proud of it!

    equinesites:
I used the default WP nav-menu include to generate the nav menu list and sub-lists. Then I applied a bit of custom jQuery & CSS for the drop-downs. If you dig around in the source code of that site, you’ll see it. (Or I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about it.)

    thegirlsown:
Thanks for the kind words. I only built this site… the design was done by my designer, Richard Hatter.

That is one great looking site. If you don’t mind me asking (and perhaps you’ll want to respond privately), how much time/$$$ did development cost?
