New WP installation
-
Here’s the thing. I have a domain ceconn.com which I use for business and I host it. I have a WP subdomain canwetalk.ceconn.com, which is my blog. I’m now adding another subdomain, mykitchen.ceconn.com and so I installed WP again in addition to my previous installation and changed the directory name to mykitchen. So far, so good.
I created a MySQL database. I made the changes in wp-config.php. However, when I went to admin/wp-install.php, I get this message:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down. Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums. So here I am now in the Support Forum. Hope you can help? Does it have something to do with the fact that there are two installations of WordPress or is it something else?
