• Is that the best solution when you don′t have a developer server?
My client dont want to move to a new host, and dont want any downtime on current site.

Would this be an ok approach?

    Thanks for any feedback!

  • A subdomain would be better.
    A subdirectiory would be “main-site.com/subdirectory”
    A subdomain would be “subdomain.main-site.com”

With a subdomain, you can install WordPress as if it was a stand-alone site. Everything you are working on in the subdomain will not affect the main site at all. It will even have a seperate login.

    Thanks for your reply!

    I meant subdomain ??
How would I go about moveing it in the best possible way when finished?
Do I need to change all links and database?

This is the best way: – Moving WordPress ? WordPress Codex, and here is a thread that has excellent info: Moving newly designed WPsite from subdomain to root.

This is something you do not rush and if you need any assistance or run into problems, post here on the Forum because there many people who are adroit at this.
