New wordpress not showing stats correctly?

  • I noticed my google analytics is showing visitors but wordpress is not recording them? Google shows 19 and WordPress shows 2?

    It shows on Google: simple-share-buttons.com / referral

    Any ideas?

    Which plugin are you using for your stats?

    I’m not using one. I have the Google code in the footer of one of my widgets. So everytime a page loads it records the visit.

    If you deactivate your Jetpack plugin do your stats disappear?

    I don’t know – the last time I disbaled it by mistake I did and someone there had to fix it for me. Why are the stats messed up? Shouldn’t they match my Google visits? Sometimes I don’t get the visitors from other sites not recorded in wordpres app.

    You need to first identify where your stats are being generated from – a default WordPress installation does not contain a stats area.

    This is a Referrer Spam that uses a Google Analytics to make fake visits, so if you have other analytics, in your case WordPress, this Referrals won’t show up there.

    Since these are not real visits the best thing is to stop them you can check this post for more information about Referrer Spam and how to stop it. [Link redacted]
