Hi pros, I have screenshots of 4 years of WooCommerce data and it disagrees with itself. The older reports system works for both old and new orders, it just works smooth. The new 4.0 report system seems to trip itself on its own ideas.

We know that Woo 4.0 came up with new reports but it consistently “does not see” older orders from last year, and sometimes it sees it, sometimes now. The difference between the new report vs old report is huge:

2021 12months gross sales by OLD WooCom analytics: $2,133,225.54

2021 12 months gross sales by NEW WooCom analytics: $0 (wrong)

2020 ” by NEW WooCom analytics: $0 (wrong)

2019 ” by NEW WooCom analytics: $330 (wrong)

And as we go back, there are some blipps where it picks up, but the new reporting system is forever wrong.

This leads me to question how the new reporting system is grabbing data from the orders table. Would it not be a simple lookup? Apparently it tries to do it the more complicated way for… reasons?

Not sure if i’m allowed to post screenshot links but pls comment if you know how the new report system actually works.

If there’s no simple answer, may I ask what year / date did this new reporting system came into production?

This is important because the new reporting system also compares previous periods. Yet it does not grab previous period data in an transparent or automatic manner. Thus it’s really really confusing the leaders of the corp.

EDIT: the issue is not just that we need to manually import historical data into the new reports system. If we go back further, the new reports system picks up “blimps” of order data totally $500-$1000 3-4 years back! So what is going on here? We expect a simple warning of “no data in this range” if it was designed as such.

    EDIT 2: clarity

    Hello @olcoil,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Could you please attach a copy of your site’s System Status report? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please paste it here in your reply or via a text-sharing service like https://gist.github.com/.

Also, please feel free to post as many screenshots as you want.

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few free options:

The order data is synced using the action scheduler in the background. Can you please confirm if you have tried to delete historical data and re-import it? Also, have you cleared the analytics cache from WooCommerce > Status > Tools?

Look forward to hearing back from you.
