new widgetized area shifts all widget areas

Hi,

I added a new widgetized area to this theme. My new widget area works, and is listed first in the list of widget areas. However, now all the widgets have been shifted up by one widget area.
For example the widgets that were in the “Wide” area are now shifted up and appear in the “404 page” area.
This is only in the Dashboard however, on the site everything appears where it should be. So I guess this is related to the IDs assigned to each widget area by the theme for ordering?

I’m just wondering what I need to do with my new widget area to maintain the proper syncing of the widget areas with their assigned widgets?
